Most people love gardening. Indeed, what’s better than to savour a tomato or a carrot that comes from your own garden?
Growing tomatoes is not too hard: both beginners and experts alike can grow some without any problems. Whether you plant them in a flower pot or in the grown, they only require water and sun to grow.
However, this natural trick will change your tomato crop into a great harvest this summer! Here’s how.
- With a very sharp knife or pruning shears, prune all the lower branches of your tomato plants. Do it on a hot day, when the soil is dry.
- Do not cut the main shaft(s). Leave leaves high.
- You can remove these branches because they do not produce fruit. They only increase the plant’s need for water. By cutting these branches, you improve the air and water circulation of your tomato plant. It will, therefore, become stronger and more likely to produce fruit.
You can take the cut branches to make a homemade compost.
