White is the new black! Fashion designers swore on black items for years, no matter whether in summer or fall. As these days are now over, the newest trending color is white. However, it is not always easy to maintain nice white clothes and shoes. This color is very messy and requires constant maintenance. Fortunately, there is a variety of tricks to help us take care of our favorite white items.
Here are some tips to give you a hand in the whitening of your clothing to restore them to their former glory days.
1. T-shirt
Your favorite white t-shirt is colored with yellow spots under the sleeves? Here’s how to get rid of these unsightly stains!
- Drop a tsp of of liquid dish soap on the stain.
- Put 2 tbsp. coffee with hydrogen peroxide.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the stain.
- Take a brush and scrub your mixture.
- Wait an hour or two.
- Wash in the washing machine.
2. Shoes
To wash your shoes, you need ½ cup of white vinegar, ½ cup of baking soda and a brush.
- In a container, mix the ingredients until there is foam.
- Put the solution on the brush and rub your shoes with it.
- Leave on for 30 minutes.
- Rinse your shoes with water and let them dry in the open air.
3. Socks
So that your socks find their whiteness of yesteryear, here’s what to do:
- In a saucepan, pour water and add the juice of 2 to 3 lemons.
- Put the rest of the lemons in your whitening socks and put them in the pan.
- Boil your water mixed with juice.
- Once the water boils, turn off the heat and wait an hour.
- Rinse your socks.
- Spin them and let them air dry in the sun.
4. Blouse
In order for your blouse to become as white as before, you need hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
- Mix 1 tbsp of detergent with 3-4 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide.
- Add 2 tbsp. tablespoon of baking soda to your mixture. You should then get a paste.
- Rub the paste against the stain.
- Wash as usual.
5. Wool accessories (tuque, mittens, scarf)
To whiten yellowing wool, you must absolutely avoid bleach. You can opt for hydrogen peroxide or baking soda:
- Dip your mittens and tuque for 12 hours in warm water to which you have added baking soda (50 g per 1 L of water).
- Rinse.
- Try to avoid spinning them.
- Hand-dry overnight.
6. Lingerie
To whiten your lingerie, you should use your sink. Fill up with water and add a cup of hydrogen peroxide (30%) or a cup of liquid laundry soap. Grab to part of the piece and rub against each part to activate the cleaning process.
