Blackheads are one thing that all women have to deal with at least once in their life. There exists so many different remedies that are suppose to help, but some can be harmful to your skin. Our grandmothers have all the best tricks to find remedies for all sorts of different conundrum’s we face daily. Among these grandma approved recipes, there are a few totally natural ones that will help you eliminate excess sebum on your skin and finally remove all of your blackheads for good.
10. Lemon
For this treatment to work, you need to do it 2 to 3 times a day for a week. Cut a lemon in half and dip a cotton swab inside the lemon to soak the end, then dab the lemony cotton swab directly on your blackheads.
9. Potato
Like the lemon trick, repeat this trick 2-3 times a day for a week. Cut a potato in slices, then place the slices directly on your blackheads and rub gently. You will elimintate the excess sebum and stop your skin from creating more blackheads.
8. Baking soda
Mix 2 coffee spoons of mineral water with baking soda until you get a paste. Put the paste on your skin and make circular motions to rub it in. Wait 5 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Do this only once a week.
7. Milk
You can get rid of your blackheads with milk and gelatin:
- In a bowl, mix a tablespoon of milk with a tablespoon of gelatin powder. You can also use half of a gelatin sheet if you don’t have any powder.
- Heat up your mixture at a low temperature in a saucepan until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Mix the ingredients to form a paste and let it cool.
- Dab it on your blackheads with a clean flat brush.
- Leave it on for 20 minutes.
- When taking off your homemade mask your blackheads should also disappear.
- Finish by applying hydrating cream on your face.
6. Essential oils
To eliminate your blackheads, make your own exfoliator with essential oils and use it 2-3 times a week. All you have to do is dilute 12 drops of essential oil in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. You can use tea tree oil, manuka oil, rosewood oil, geranium oil, lavander oil, sandalwood oil, or grapefruit oil. Mix them together or use them seperately. Once your mixture is done, rub it on your skin.
Warning: If you have sensitive skin, test the product in the crook of your elbow 24 hours before.
5. White argyle
You can also make yourself a face mask with white argyle.
- In a bowl, put one tablespoon of white argyle soaked in rose water.
- Mix these ingredients with a coffee spoon of aloe vera gel, 2 drops of tea tree oil and 3 drops of grapefruit seed extract.
- Apply the mask on your face and leave it there for 10 minutes, then rinse your face with water.
4. Egg whites
Unclog your pores with a homemade paste.
- Separate the egg white from the egg yolk.
- Take the egg white and mix it with some flour to make a paste.
- Apply this mixture to your blackheads.
- Once the paste is dry, rinse your face.
3. Oranges
This citrus is not only good for your health, it is also good to use to get rid of blackheads. Oranges possess anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial virtues. Use it at home in a face mask.
- Take some orange peels and let them dry for a whole day.
- Chop them until they become a very fine powder.
- Mix this powder with water to create a paste, then apply it to your blackheads.
- Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse your face.

A toothbrush can help you get rid of your blackheads. Dip the toothbrush in lemon juice and make small, circular motions on your blackheads.
1. Honey
Honey, like lemons, has disinfectant properties. Another one of its advantages is that it makes your skin velvety soft while exfoliating it too. To take advantage of these beauty benefits, you will need half a lemon and one tablespoon honey.
- Put a tablespoon of honey on the smooth part of the lemon half.
- Take the lemon and scrub it on your face. Focus the scrubbing on the areas where you have blackheads.
- Wait 5 minutes.
- Rinse your face with cold water.
