Just before Fall arrives, many insects look for a warm place to hide. Their hiding spot usually ends up being our homes. This is mainly the case for spiders. We often find some in the crannies of our home. There are natural ways to chase them away with the help of a few natural hacks. You wont need to use chemical products to make them disappear.
1. Horse chestnut
When you take a walk in the woods, pick up a few horse chestnuts. Why? Spiders hate them! Open up a few and place them in your entryway. You can also place some in the crannies of the rooms of your home.
2. White vinegar
Spray, once a week, vinegar near your windows and doors. Spiders don’t like the smell of acetic acid present in vinegar.
3. Alum stone
Make your own natural repellent with this stone:
- Put 25 grams of alum stone powder in 250 ml of water;
- Mix;
- Pour your mixture into a spray bottle.
Spray your entryway once a week.
4. Lavender
Lavender is the sworn enemy of spiders so place some bouquets all over your home. You can also put some lavender essential oil in your entryway.
5. Chestnut tree leaves
Place some chestnut tree leaves in the corners and crannies of your house to ward off spiders. You can also use tomato leaves.
6. Mint
Another natural repellent that you can use is mint leaves. Place some leaves in the corners and crannies of your house to ward off spiders and change them when they have dried up.
7. Pieces of cedar
Pieces of cedar are also a good way to ward off spiders. Place them on the edge of your windows and near your entryway.
