There are so many essential oils available in stores that choosing the right variety can be pretty daunting. Since every single one of them possesses its own unique properties, it is important to understand which oils you can use for household chores, to look after your health or to take care of your well-being. Here are 20 different ways to use these oils that very few people know.
1. Treat your bruises
Arnica oil is known to increase blood flow and can really help treat bruises, swelling and inflammation. You can rub this oil directly on your body where you have a bruise or some swelling. You can also dilute it in your bath. But keep in mind that arnica is toxic and can’t be used on a regular base – it is obviously not adapted for oral use.
2. Relieve your headache
To get rid of your headache, mix a few drops of peppermint, eucalyptus and lavender oil with 6 drops of support oil (olive, sesame, jojoba). Lightly massage the zone behind your ears, behind your neck, your forehead and under your nose.

Use cedar, citronella, or clove oil to ward off mosquitoes. Use these in a diffuser or mix a few drops with coconut oil, let it harden and spread the mixture on your skin.
4. Purify your house
Replace dangerous chemical products with eucalyptus or tea tree oil. These are known to have excellent disinfectant properties. The important thing to know is that essential oils are not soluble in water so if you add them to water in a spray bottle, the oils don’t mix with the water, they will stay on top. The right way to create a cleaning solution is to first dissolve the oil in alcohol then to add it to the vinegar and water mix.
5. Improve the appearance of your skin
They are excellent to use for skin care treatments. The best ones for the skin are lavender, jojoba, geranium, and musk rose oil. For a daily skin care use, add a few drops into a container with some oil or warm honey, apply the mixture on your skin for 10-15 minutes, then wash your face. For a daily use, add a few drops to your favourite face cream.
6. Deodorize your garbage can

You should obviously avoid driving when you are tired.
