Lamyaa, a 17-year-old Saudi Arabian woman who has been living in the United States since the age of 7, joined a mobile application discussion group to openly share her thoughts on a variety of topics including Trump’s controversial immigration policy In American soil.
A Disrespectful Answer
Wearing a hijab, Lamyaa could only express her indignation at this lack of tolerance and this fierceness against her religion.
After writing a message in to her group asking to stop the insults against her origins, she received a rather thankless reply that told her: “Stop defending Islam shit and shut up! You can not even take off your hijab without your father beating you. “
Reaching Out To Her Father
Shocked by this message, Lamyaa decided to send a message to his father to ask him for his opinion on the possibility of removing her hijab.
A Relief After The Answer
After seeing her father’s response, the girl was relieved. So she decided to take a screenshot to publish on the group that had insulted her earlier as well as on her Twitter.
She quickly received messages from people who welcomed her relationship with her father and apologized for having been swept away by prejudice about her religion and family.
