Nutritionists and the World Health Organization (WHO) advise us to seek our energy with only 5% sugar. Unfortunately, our trend is over 20% according to Statistics Canada, because we find sugar in almost everything and it makes us addicted. This is why diabetes, obesity, hypertension and depression continue to increase in our society.
It is very difficult to limit or even completely eliminate sugar intake, especially if you have a sweet tooth. The more we consume sugar, the more our brain desires it. Opting for sugar free feeding is hard and motivation won’t be enough, it takes determination. Sugar is a really powerful stimulant to rise energy in the body. At this point, there is no problem. The problem arises when the sugar level falls drastically at lower than usual rates. The body slows down and tiredness is present. One ends up feeling the need to consume sugar again, it is a wheel that turns.
A Woman’s Shocking Story
Danièle Gerkens, a health journalist at ELLE magazine, tried the experiment. She was totally deprived of sugar for a full year, then she wrote a book outlining the results of her experience and all the benefits she had gained. Among them is found 6 kilos less, a reduction of its cellulite and less frequent sinusitis.
