This trend started at the end of the 20th century when breeders began crossing poodles with other dogs to get the poodles’ hypoallergenic coat and traits from the other dog’s breed.

Now though, we can get crossbreed dogs from a variety of dogs, not just poodles and something else. Here are 10 fascinating crossbreed dogs.

20. Pit Bull + Husky

Can you imagine a dog that has the resilience and gaminess of the powerful American Pit Bull with the pulling power of the Husky? Well, you don’t even have to use your imagination as we have a picture of the Pitsky next!

19. Pitsky

The Pitsky has the chiselled muscles of the Pit Bull with the wolf-like appearance of the Husky. It’s a lovely dog with a lot of energy, and it’s good around a family.

18. Corgi + Sheltie

The next crossbreed we’ll see combines the Corgi and the Shetland Sheepdog, making for a loyal, intelligent, alert and active dog called “Schörgi”

17. Schörgi

The Schörgi is a stout shepherd dog that lies low to the ground. Intelligent and obedient, it’s a crossbreed that will seek to please its human. It’s also a confident and consistent pack leader.

16. Golden Retriever + Husky

All-time family favourite Golden Retriever and independent Husky come together to form what is known as a Golden Husky.

15. Golden Husky

This crossbreed looks like a fluffy Husky, with the soft feathered fur of the Golden Retriever clothing the Husky physique. Isn’t it so cute?

Did breeders really need to bring these two together?

13. Bullpug

Here’s the Bullpug. We don’t really know where to go from here. Doesn’t it look … so weird?

Here’s a Chusky that has the colour of the Chow Chow, but there are also Chuskies that have Husky colours. You just never know what you will get when crossbreeding! The Chusky is a headstrong dog not recommended for first-time dog owners.

10. Corgi + Husky

The cross between the Corgi and the Husky is known as a Horgi or a Siborgi, if the Corgi is crossed with the Siberian Husky.

The Horgi brings the best traits of both breeds, including a docile temperament. Fun and loyal, the Horgi looks like a fun-sized version of a chunkily built Husky.

The mix of Yorkshire terrier and miniature Poodle is known by a variety of names, including the Yorkipoo, the Yo-Yopood and the Yorkiedoodle.

7. Yorkipoo

Yet another curious Corgi crossbreed, this one brings together the Corgi and the German Shepherd. The result is pretty much a small-sized German Shepherd which is low on the ground.
