Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But there are some things that are objectively ugly. This notion is true even in the automotive world. Despite the technological development, some cars are simply not aesthetically pleasing. In fact, over the years, roads have seen cars that only designers can describe as pretty. If you doubt this, here are the 10 ugliest cars ever made.
10. Covini C6W 2004
The Covini C6W is part of the list because of its 6 wheels. The car had a decent power of 400 horsepower. The extra wheels were intended for balance and better braking. The manufacturers of the Covini C6W were simply trying to achieve good functionality, but it must be said that the result was not as attractive to the naked eye.
9. Marcos Mantis
Marcos was a British manufacturer specializing in sports cars. Their cars were generally ugly, but the Marcos Mantis seems to be a particularly ugly model. This car, which was put on the market in 1968, was withdrawn shortly after from car dealerships before making a final appearance in 2008 at the “Festival of Speed”.
8. Troll Sports coupe
Troll Plastik & Bilindustri, a Norwegian company, tried to build a car with a fibreglass body. The material is lightweight and has other advantages such as rust resistance. The technical aspect could have been commendable, but for the design, the car manufacturers missed their chance. The car was produced for only two years, from 1956 to 1958.
7. Hyundai Tiburon
The Hyundai Tiburon has several names. In Europe, it was called the Hyundai coupe, while in America and other markets, it was called the Tiburon. Tiburon is the Spanish word for “shark”. It must be said that this car bears its name well, because it looks like a marine animal, but much less pretty.
6. Stutz Blackhawk
The Stutz Blackhawk was first produced in 1972. More than forty years later, it is not clear what was going on in the minds of the designers when they realized the aesthetic aspect of the car. It was 19 feet (almost 6 meters) long. Apparently, it was loved by Elvis Presley. It was also a very expensive car. It’s clearly a scam.
5. PT Cruiser
Chrysler is a decent car manufacturer. Unfortunately, they failed miserably with the PT Cruiser. There’s not much we can say about the car’s performance, but we can say straight away that it’s a pretty ugly car.
4. Brubaker Box
The manufacturers of the Brubaker Box deserve an A plus for an accurate representation. That’s right, the name is as ugly as the car. This car is simply a bad box on wheels. However, it seems to be a useful tool in the event of a global nuclear war.
3. Reliant Robin
The Reliant Robin looks like a cross between a car, a boat and a motorcycle. It doesn’t just sound right on any front. This car was one of the most popular fibreglass cars in history and today it has rightly earned a place on the list of the ugliest cars in the world. It was first manufactured in 1973 to replace the Reliant Regal.
2. Veritas RS III 2010
In 2010, Vermot AG had not been active in the automotive industry for 60 years. The same year, it decided to make an ugly comeback on the market. The 2010 Veritas RS III is not only ugly, it looks like something you would see in a nightmare. It looks like the designers of this car pushed the wrong button and pulled a monster out of hell. But we nevertheless appreciate their intentions to create a unique automobile.
1. The Aurora
One fine day in 1957, a priest woke up and after thinking about the number of road accident victims, he decided to save the world. He had a brilliant idea. He was going to build the safest car in the world. He did, and the result was the Aurora. We don’t know if this car was safe, but what is certain is that it is considered unsightly by many people!
